Sternal I/O In fusion Simuator

The Sternal IO Access Trainer is a realistic training simulator designed for hands-on instruction in sternal intraosseous infusion. It has been specifically developed to prepare healthcare professionals at various levels of training for the safe performance of sternal intraosseous access. Anatomically accurate landmarks and realistic soft tissue provide an authentic training experience for correct positioning and puncture. 

The simulator specifically replicates access to the marrow space of the manubrium. The replaceable bone insert provides a realistic feel when establishing intraosseous access and can be used for basic puncture training as well as exercises involving simulated blood flashback and fluid infusion. 

For particularly realistic confirmation of successful placement, the bone insert can be filled with simulated blood. Correct placement can then produce a visible blood flashback. In addition, fluids can be infused through a correctly established intraosseous access, allowing the complete procedure to be practiced – from identifying the anatomical landmarks and performing the puncture to administering an infusion. 

The replaceable bone inserts can be used multiple times. By rotating the insert, different puncture sites can be accessed. We recommend approximately 10 punctures per insert, with a maximum of 12, making the trainer economical even with regular use. 

The trainer is particularly suitable for education and training in emergency medicine, emergency medical services, military medicine, medical skills labs, and simulation centers. It enables repeated practice of a procedure that may be performed infrequently but can be critical in emergency situations.
